We’re Ashley and Jim, the artists behind harlow — our art studio based in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Here, the pace is slower, the air is saltier, and creativity is a lifeline.

Art has always helped us feel grounded and at home in our own minds and environments. As neurodivergent artists, we understand how deeply a space can shape how you feel. The objects we live with matter. They influence mood, energy, and peace.

We create ceramic art that’s calming, warm, and personal — pieces that belong in real homes, with real lives unfolding around them. Everything is crafted by hand with intention, one piece at a time. The forms, textures, and surfaces carry the imprint of being made by humans who care, not machines.

We hope our work helps you feel good and creates a space that’s a little more like home.

ashley perez

Ashley comes to ceramics from a background in writing and brand storytelling — which means she’s always been interested in emotion, atmosphere, and how small details shape experience. Her work leans contemporary, abstract, and organic, with rounded forms and a mix of soothing neutral palettes and playful, punchy color. Whether quiet or expressive, her pieces are meant to bring a sense of presence and personality into a space.

jim sweeney

Jim’s background is in engineering and video game design, where structure, problem-solving, and visual world-building were central. That translated naturally into ceramics, where he works with clean forms and intricate surface techniques like sgraffito, carving, and raku. His pieces have a modern sculptural presence — thoughtful in form, rich in texture, and full of character.
