hi there! we're harlow.

harlow is an art studio started by Ashley Perez and Jim Sweeney in coastal Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Here, the pace is slower, the air is saltier, and creativity feels like a lifeline. We began making art not to chase perfection, but to reconnect—with ourselves, our joy, our curiosity, and what makes us feel more comfortable in our own skin.

As late-diagnosed neurodivergent artists living with ADHD and PTSD, we know how powerful it is to have a space that reflects how you want to feel. Some days, that means calm and clarity. Other days, it means color, creativity, and a little bit of chaos (in the best way). That’s the spirit behind every piece we make.

We hope our work helps you feel something good and a little more at home.

Ashley's a marketer and writer who found her way to clay after years in the digital world. What started as a creative outlet quickly became a new way to explore texture, shape, and storytelling. Her work blends soft, organic forms with bold colors through techniques like color blocking and colorfielding — often minimal, sometimes punchy, always full of feeling.

She gravitates toward sculptural vases and abstract paintings that play with contrast and emotion, aiming to create pieces that feel grounding and expressive.

Jim's an engineer and video game designer who discovered a love for handbuilding and never looked back. He’s all about thoughtful design — carving, shaping, and sculpting pieces that are both intricate and approachable. Whether he's working in clay or building virtual worlds, he's constantly experimenting with form, function, and storytelling.

Expect texture, intention, and a little bit of nerdy precision in everything he makes.

We believe art can do good on more than one level. That’s why a portion of every purchase goes to two organizations close to our hearts:

  • Pet Partners: supporting therapy animals that bring comfort and healing to people in need.
  • Surfrider Foundation: working to protect the ocean and coastal communities we call home.
